Sometimes gardening isn’t just about the plants. It’s also about slowing down and reconnecting with nature. 🧘‍♂️ I reminded of this in little moments when I notice life in the garden - not the cultivated kind - but lichens growing on a frangipani or mushrooms springing out of a plant pot. And while I didn’t put them there, they are all a part of the little ecosystem of our garden. 🌱 #mindfulness #gardening #nature #lichen #mushroom RIP to my Blue Java banana 🌱💔 Have you ever rescued plants from a dumpster? 😂 Some shots from our stroll through the Brisbane City Botanic Gardens this morning. I just love how the morning sun illuminated the colourful foliage and how this contrasted with the shady parts of the garden - very beautiful! Kudos to the gardeners at the City Botanic Gardens, it really is a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the city 👏 #botanicgardens #brisbanegardens #queensland #australia #gardens Sorry, I cannot hear you, I’m kinda busy 💅 #ladygaga #comedy #gardening #gardeninglife #gardensofinstagram If I’m being honest, we’ve all been there 🤷‍♂️ #gardenhumour #gardenlife #plantsofinstagram #gardening #plantdad The nights may be getting cooler, but the caladiums are still putting on their show before the winter dormancy period. I love how it’s like the sun shone a spotlight on this leaf through the dapple of the canopy. This cultivar is ‘Pink Camouflage’ #caladiums #caladium #tropicalfoliage #aroid #gardenmood Let me show you how I propagate dracaenas from clippings people leave on the verge in our suburb #dracaena #plantpropagation #gardensofinstagram #tropicalplants #hardyplants Another ‘up close’ with one of our potted tropical waterlilies, ‘Jack Wood’. Unlike ‘Mrs. Pring’, this one has a fragrance 🥰 and I just love the purple/magenta colour 💕💜 It has lived in its pot for a number of years, and is a little bit crowded now (and well overdue for some thinning out), but never fails to show off these spectacular blooms every year. An absolute joy to have in our garden! #waterlily #nymphaea #flowerphotography #macrophoto #plantsofinstagram
