This weekend’s Facebook Marketplace find 🌿 This wouldn’t be my first time driving around in a jungle on wheels (or being a passenger, in this case)! 😂 Two new additions to our garden - 3 meter tall Indian Mast Trees… they only just fit in the car. Phew! 😮‍💨😅😌 #plantshopping #jungle #gardening It’s officially the last day of Summer! This season, I thought I would try my hand at propagating cordylines via seeds from my plants. I’ve selected seeds from ‘Firefountain’ and ‘Willi’s Gold’ (have seen some interesting seedlings grown by other enthusiasts from the latter). So far they appear to be growing well. Apparently only about 20% of the seedlings will produce any colour, and I only have a handful that have germinated so fingers crossed there is one or two in there with some good colour 🤞🌈🌱 #plantpropagation #cordyline #seedling Something a little bit unexpected in our largely tropical/subtropical garden - our St Helena Island Olive has finally gifted us its first two fruits, after six years in the ground! 🍈 This variety is descended from the original trees planted on the penal settlement on St Helena Island in Moreton Bay in the late 1800s, which was used to produce and export olive oil. It’s one of the few varieties known to grow and set fruit in our humid subtropical climate 😊 #olive #oleaeuropaea #subtropicalgarden Summer is officially nearing its end (which is a non-event here in the subtropics - we don’t really have 4 seasons, as such). I have been taking advantage of the warmth to propagate cuttings before the weather starts cooling down. Also took the opportunity on a breezy Saturday afternoon to take some more videos from around the garden, the sunlight flickering though the nodding palm fronds was just magical ✨🍃🌬️ #summergarden #tropicalparadise #plantsofinstagram Just a slow and meditative mini garden tour of our summer garden. Take a deep breath, relax, and enjoy! 😎☀️🧘‍♂️ #gardentour #gardenmeditation #tropicalplants Looking forward to our local garden club visit this morning. The weather is perfect for a garden tour, not too hot - just right #tropicalgardens #tropicalplants #garden Freshly mowed and ready for a visit from our local gardening club later this week - our first ever time showing the gardens to more than just friends, family, visitors etc. ☺️🌸🌴🌱 But for now, off to work! #gardenclub #lawn #tropicalgarden Hello, friend! #beardeddragon #wildlife #reptile
